My 405th Journal Entry

Hi, Journal!

The 105th thing I love about my boyfriend is, he really hangs in there when dungeon-mastering for his friends. For some reason, even though most of us haven't been rpging nearly as long as his buddies have, all of us Worthy girls manage to stay on track a lot better than his weekly virtual play session with his friends. I listen in sometimes and even I can tell they're walking right past a bunch of big clues he's giving them of how to find the secret whatever-majig it is they're looking for. But he hangs in there and keeps finding fun and funny things for their characters to do!

He's very good at DMing!

My 404th Journal Entry

Hi, Journal!

The 104th thing I love about my boyfriend is, I always know where to find him!

(That's a joke in case you didn't notice this was journal entry 404, like when the computer says, "404 error not found." Pretty funny, right, Journal? But it's not just a joke that I love always knowing where to find him. That part's definitely not an error!)

My 403rd Journal Entry

Hi, Journal!

The 103rd thing I love about my boyfriend is, he's picky but not too picky. See, because he's picky, I get to feel like, well, he picked me, so I must be pretty special! But if he was lots more picky, he wouldn't be much fun to hang out with, because people who only just complain all the time are kind of a downer, and I feel like the pickier you are, probably the more you complain.

I'm definitely not as picky as he is ... but even if I was, I would still pick him!

My 402nd Journal Entry

Hi, Journal!

The 102nd thing I love about my boyfriend is what a sucker he is for when our pets want something out of him. If they had fingers he would be totally wrapped around their little ones, because all they have to do is meow or whine and he feels all bad for them and goes and does something to try and make them feel better. Not always exactly the thing they want, because that's usually food or snackies, and they'd all be huge-o roly-polies by now if he gave them all the snackies they wanted. But he'll pet them or play with them with a stick and string toy.

Sometimes I purr at him to get things I want!

My 401st Journal Entry

Hi, Journal!

Whoosh! I feel like I'm really getting the hang of this journaling thing now that I'm over the 400 hump and have been blogging every day for like, hundreds of days!

Okay, back to my list!

The 101st thing I love about my boyfriend is, to make up for sometimes being too hard on himself, other times he says to heck with it and treats himself. It's really nice to be able to tell him, "Yay! Good job, honey!" Even if the treat is just, like, a coffee drink from somewhere.

My 400th Journal Entry

Hi, Journal!

Happy 400th birthday!

I'm pretty proud of us for getting here. Maybe it's kind of silly since a lot of my journal entries are awfully short -- but it still feels like a big accomplishment!

And I couldn't have done it without you!

I guess maybe I could make this an extra-long entry, not just an extra-celebrationy one. Like, I could figure out some goals for future journaling. But jeepers, I won't even be done with my list of things I love about my boyfriend until entry number 650!

I guess I could start a whole other blog for the rest of that list.

That would be four whole blogs I'm working on at once though! It sounds kind of tiring.

Well, I'll think about it and hopefully decide before tomorrow.

Bye, and Happy 400 again!

My 399th Journal Entry

Hi, Journal!

The 100th thing I love about my boyfriend is that he thinks numbers are cool. I don't mean, like, all numbers being equally cool, but just particu-special numbers. Some of his favorite ones are 1066, 42, and one he shares with Claire, 1701. He also likes it when numbers are reversible, especially dates, like a couple of years ago when it was 12/11/21 and last year when it was 2/22/22 and this year when it was 3/23/23.

I have never been a big numbery or mathy kind of person, but he makes me enjoy at least some of it by getting excited over neat ones like those.

My 398th Journal Entry

Hi, Journal!

The 98th thing I love about my boyfriend is, sometimes he's dumb in a way I can figure out how to fix. Not very often! But when it happens, it's usually a dumb thing that makes him feel bad about himself, so when I tell him how to fix it, I'm also making him feel better. And that feels awesome!

The 99th thing I love about my boyfriend, which I'm going to go ahead and say now so I can blog about something besides my list when I get to my 400th entry in a couple days (and also which I'm going to say because it's an extra important one and I don't want to forget it by holding it off till tomorrow), is that he won't let me say I'm dumb. He's way smarter than I am, so it's easy to compare myself to him (or to Claire or Hettie or okay, just about any of my yams) and think I must be dumb.

But he doesn't let me get away with that!

And if somebody that smart thinks I'm smart too, then I must be a pretty big smarty-pants myself, right? Well maybe not, but at least I'm not a dumbo-pants.

My 397th Journal Entry

Hi, Journal!

The 97th thing I love about my boyfriend is, he has alllll these projects! Stories he's writing on ... artworks he's artworking at ... doll-related things for his girlfriends ... he's even got this "annotated bibliography" he's been working on about all the books of one of his favorite authors.

Probably it's too much for any one person to finish all of it unless they're more willing to neglect their girlfriends than he is.

But he doesn't give up!

396th Journal Entry

Hi, Journal!

The 96th thing I love about my boyfriend is, he's willing to lose sleep over all of us girls in the house! Meaning, if one of us wants to stay up and needs his help with some blogging or something, he'll definitely always do it. Also if the whole bunch of us start playing a game and it gets late but we need to finish.

He yawns a lot, but he's so happy to be up with us!

My 395th Journal Entry

Hi, Journal!

The 95th thing I love about my boyfriend is, he just got me a super-great anniversary present!

(I mean, it's not just for me, it's for pretty much everybody in the household. But I'm still counting it!)

My 394th Journal Entry

Hi, Journal!

The 94th thing I love about my boyfriend is, four years ago today he asked me to come live with him and Claire and Sasha and Elle, and when I got here, he told me he had loved me since the first time he saw my picture online.

I really owe him just about almost everything!

My 393rd Journal Entry

Hi, Journal!

The 93rd thing I love about my boyfriend is, he really likes to think about the stuff he's a fan of. He's a very thinky guy about lots of stuff, but he's especially thinky about things like Star Wars and Star Trek and different kinds of music and books and movies and TV shows all around.

What's bestest about this is, it makes it super-interesting to talk to him about stuff we both like, which basically doubles or double-plus-extra-doubles how much fun things are because I get to enjoy them from enjoying them, and then enjoy them from learning more about them when he talks about all this stuff I didn't think of myself, and then enjoy them even more from having conversations about the things he thought about once they make me think my own thoughts about them.

He makes me smarter about bunches of stuff, but especially smarter about fun stuff because finding even more fun in fun stuff is obviously a smart thing to do. Being no fun is for dummies!

My 392nd Journal Entry

Hi, Journal!

The 92nd thing I love about my boyfriend is breathing in his ear when he's not expecting it.

He loves it too, even if sometimes he acts like he wishes I wouldn't keep doing it!

My 391st Journal Entry

Hi, Journal,

The 91st thing I love about my boyfriend is, he is crazy creative and talented. I mean, he can write super-wonderful stories, he can draw really well, he's an excellent gamemaster for roleplaying games, and he's just all around very clever and funny.

Most people do not have nearly as many talents that they're really good at!

My 390th Journal Entry

Yep, Journal, it's another one of those two-entries-today-because-I-skipped-yesterday-days.

The 90th thing I love about my boyfriend is, he has good taste in breakfast cereal! Unfortunately, he usually sticks to just healthy cereals, so even though he loves things like Lucky Charms and Golden Grahams and Cinnamon Toast Crunch, we don't get them all that often. But Cheerios and granola cereals are good too, and when he breaks down sometimes, willpower-wise, we all get treated to extra-sugary goodness in the morning!

My 389th Journal Entry

Hi, Journal!

The 89th thing I love about my boyfriend is, he orders reallllly good pizzas! Like, he never puts yucky stuff on there like anchovies, and he always asks for the right amount of cheese and sauce!

Mmmm, pizza!

My 388th Journal Entry

Hi, Journal!

The 88th thing I love about my boyfriend is, he doesn't want to spoil other people's fun. Like, right now we've been watching this Picard show, and it sure is pretty goofy-dumbarooni, but every time he goes on Twitter and thinks maybe he'll complain about it, he sees people talking about how much they love it and he decides, "I should just let them do that."

Boy, it sure is dumb, though.

My 387th Journal Entry

Hi, Journal!

The 87th thing I love about my boyfriend is, he's very kind-hearted. This seems like such a big part of who he is that I think it would be kind of weird that I haven't listed it before, so maybe I'm doing a repeat here. BUT I'm going to say that it's SUCH a big part of who he is that even if it's a repeat, it's big enough to be whatever other number I gave it an number 87 too.

I don't even think I would call that cheating!

My 386th Journal Entry

Hi, Journal!

The 86th thing I love about my boyfriend is when he just has to always read the instructions on food before he microwaves something or puts it in the air fryer. Like, he could have made the same thing ten times before he'll skip looking at the instructions and just cook it from memory, even though he was pretty sure he remembered the instructions by like time number two.

My 385th Journal Entry

Hi, Journal,

The 85th thing I love about my boyfriend is, he loves to watch the best movies more than once, and the bestester movies over and over and over again.

I think we're overdue to watch all of Star Wars soon in fact!

My 384th Journal Entry

Hi, Journal!

The 84th thing I love about my boyfriend is how sometimes he sits around in his pj's because he's not ready to get going on his day, and then he gets started on something that actually is kinda going on his day, and before you know it, it's definitely way into his day and he's still in pj's.

Partly maybe I guess this is just because I like pj's!

My 383rd Journal Entry

Hi, Journal!

The 83rd thing I love about my boyfriend is the way he tries to keep from yawning when he's tired. He's very stubborn about not wanting to yawn sometimes, only you know as soon as you think you need to yawn or even see somebody else yawning, it gets super-hard not to do it right then. So pretty much always when he tries he fails, but I like how he keeps trying.

It's like he's having an arm-wrestling match with the universe.

My 382nd Journal Entry

Hi, Journal!

The eighty-second thing I love about my boyfriend is, he's willing to give stuff a second or third try. Like today, we watched the first episode of this most recent series of Star Trek: That Bald Guy, because he wanted to see if knowing what he knows now would make the show better.

And he thought it did!

(Although a part of what he knows now is, there's a lot of dumb stuff in the show and you have to just live with that.)

My 381st Journal Entry

Hi, Journal!

The 81st thing I love about my boyfriend is, he may be nerdy, but he's not square ... even though this number in my list is! Also, that I'm picking up some math from him, like what square numbers are.

My 380th Journal Entry

Hi, Journal!

The 80th thing I love about my boyfriend is, he won't mind at all if an entry in this list is just, like, "WOW, JOURNAL!!! It's only 20 more entries until we get to 400!!!"

My 379th Journal Entry

Hi, Journal!

The 79th thing I love about my boyfriend is, he tries every flavor of Mountain Dew when it comes out. Like, he tried the Gingerbread Cookie kind one Christmasy season, and then some other Christmasy one the next year, and he even tried the Flaming Hot Cheetos kind. I told him not to kiss me until after he brushed his teeth really good on that one, and he said he only took two sips before he threw the rest out, and I said I still wasn't taking any chances!

But I like that he tried it!

My 378th Journal Entry

Hi, Journal!

The 78th thing I love about my boyfriend is that he reminded me I was going to say the 78th thing was eating cookies together after we bake them!

But now I already put this as the 78th thing, so he may have to remind me again tomorrow.

(Holy cow, Journal, this may be a gold mine if it keeps happening this same way!)

My 377th Journal Entry

Hi, Journal!

The 77th thing I love about my boyfriend is, baking chocolate chip cookies together!

Dang it, Journal, maybe that's kind of cheaty, because I was thinking, Plus this lets me write another post later about a favorite thing being eating the chocolate chip cookies. Do I really love making the cookies all that much? Or is it just eating them?

I do have fun making them. Although mostly all I do is lick the batter off the mixer thingies and say, "Hey, I think I heard the oven beep that it's done preheating!" and later say, "Hey, that sounded like the timer going off ... yay, cookies!"

I guess I pretty seriously love the way he looks at me and is trying not to laugh when I'm licking the mixer thingies.

Okay, not cheating!

(Now we'll see if I remember to post about eating the cookies later ...)

My 376th Journal Entry

Hi, Journal!

The 76th thing I love about my boyfriend is, he doesn't do mean April Fool's jokes. Sometimes he does do April Fool's jokes (I mean, on some April Fool's Days, not just on random sometimes days), but they're always just silly ones, not mean ones.

And if you thought I was going to say, "April Fools!" and then admit he does do mean April Fool's jokes, I'm sorry, but this post is going to disappoint you. Because it's done now and no sign of any April Foolery!
